Before the floating dock, the Parit Village community located on Parit Island, Riau Islands Regency that will go to sea or travel to other islands must undergo loading and unloading of passengers and goods through the stairs to Jetty whose elevation is quite high, especially when the sea level recedes. To overcome this problem, the construction of a simple floating dock is very necessary. Floating dock is the best choice considering the elevation of the pier will follow the elevation of the water level so that it is suitable for areas with high tidal ride conditions. Floating dock is built with easy and economical materials such as wooden frame structures and plastic drums to maintain the concept of simplicity. The design of floating docks is carried out together with people who already have a basic concept of floating docks based on the size of a fishing vessel that will stand on the pier, of course by paying attention to the concept of balance and stability of the floating building, the strength of the pier structure, ease of construction, and economical. The construction process is carried out by the local community following the results of the design. D Jetty that was already there before. At the end of this community service, the floating dock has been completed and can be used daily by the community of Parit Island.
