Activity Summary

Preliminary Study of Groundwater Aquifers with resistivity methods has been carried out in Pekuncen Village, Jatilawang District, Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province. This activity is one of the topics in the Bandung Institute of Technology Institute of Community Service Program in 2023. In this activity a measuring the properties of the subsurface layer is used using 1D and 2D resistivity methods. Of the three 1D geoelectric measurement points scattered in the south and middle RW 005 Pekuncen Village found a subsurface layer that is suspected to be saturated with water located at a depth of 5-10 m from the ground surface. Whereas in a deeper layer it is suspected that it is impossible to store groundwater because it is indicated as a volcanic base rock that has a relatively high resistivity value compared to a layer containing water. It is also certain that hydrogeologically Pekuncen Village is located on the edge of the Cilacap groundwater basin, making it difficult to storing large amounts of groundwater. But considering that the village's water needs are very important and geologically have a structure that has the potential to cause disasters, it is necessary to do further studies to obtain more comprehensive conclusions.
