In preparing the disruptive turmoil caused by the current industrial revolution 4.0, vocational education plays an important role in preparing its graduates to have the skills industrial development. Armed with the skills in question and by utilizing various innovations born in this 4.0 era, SMK graduates are expected to be more adaptive, developing, and independent. However, the current development of SMKs is still not evenly distributed in the amount of distribution in the regions and also in the choice of majors in accordance with the superior potential of each of these regions. Whereas the increase in the superior potential of the region in principle will spur the economic growth of the region which will ultimately increase the demand for vocational graduates for labor.
Project based learning activities based on regional superior potential in increasing the competence of teachers and vocational school students have been carried out in this 2023 community service program. Kolbano State Vocational School in East Nusa Tenggara was the target of activities in this proposal as the roadmap of community service activities that had been designed in order to expand the benefits of activities by targeting SMKs in the regions. In addition, the Kolbano State Vocational School is the only Vocational School in Kolbano Village with the superior potential of the abundant flying fish area but has not been optimally utilized. This activity is not only targeting students and teachers of the Kolbano Vocational School, but also the surrounding community in general. & Nbsp; In this activity, various training was given through direct involvement of students and teachers in an innovation and entrepreneurial project. The output of this activity is that students have produced typical Kolbano flying fish innovation products in collaboration with MSMEs in marketing their products.
Introducing teachers about project planning elements and innovation and entrepreneur -based learning activities; Provide intensive training on the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship based on local potential of the Kolbano area; Directing students to be independent work through initiation to produce innovation products and make them entrepreneurship opportunities
Equipping students in building a mindset of critical, creative, innovative, and independent thinking, so that they are skilled in producing innovation and being able to be entrepreneurs. It also becomes a forum for teachers to enrich the atmosphere of education in the learning process of students in accordance with the 21st century education. Providing new experience and knowledge to local people regarding the potential of local resources owned by Kolbano, namely how to process, preserve, storage, and processed sales of Kolbano's typical flying fish products.
