Discrete mathematics is a branch of mathematics that is very important for students to know and master from an early age. This field is related to the application of mathematics in networks, programming, statistics, etc.
Combinatorics Mathematics KK (KKMK) FMIPA ITB has been holding Community Service (PM) activities in introducing various aspects of discrete mathematics since 2023 to target high school teachers throughout Indonesia which will be carried out in a hybrid manner in Bandung. In 2024, this PM activity will be carried out for the first time outside the city of Bandung, targeting high school teachers in the city of Makassar and the surrounding area. The activity was carried out in collaboration with the Graph Theory and Combinatorics Research Collaboration Center (PKTGdK) and the Department of Mathematics FMIPA Hasanuddin University (Unhas). The activity was held on August 30 2024 in a mixed manner at FMIPA Unhas which was attended by 30 offline participants consisting of high school teachers from the city of Makassar and surrounding areas, and 50 online participants consisting of high school teachers from various cities in Indonesia and postgraduate students. bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Mathematics Teaching
Holding activities to provide basic knowledge about discrete mathematics for students
KK: Provide opportunities for KK members to introduce their areas of expertise to the community. FS: Providing information to the public regarding study programs at FMIPA related to discrete mathematics. Indonesia: Providing basic training to high school teachers throughout Indonesia, especially in areas outside Java (especially Makassar). This is expected to improve the quality of high school teachers throughout Indonesia.
