Education is a fundamental right that every individual has as regulated in Law no. 20 of 2003 Article 5. One of the main goals is to improve the quality of human life and the environment. Basic education has an important role in shaping individual character and abilities as a means of interacting in society. However, achieving graduate competency standards (SKL), especially in remote areas such as Bayan Village, North Lombok Regency, NTB, faces various challenges. After the major earthquake in 2018, the education sector in this region experienced a significant impact. Even though the physical construction of schools has been restored with the help of the government and NGOs, learning aspects such as the quality of teaching staff, teaching methods, school facilities, and student motivation still require further attention. Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), through the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design ( FSRD), has the potential to contribute to developing effective learning systems in this region. Interior design science, which focuses on optimizing space to support user activities, is a strategic approach. In this context, activities are designed to increase the effectiveness of learning in the classroom through the use of space elements. Students and teachers are invited to understand and apply spatial layouts that support the learning process optimally. Thus, it is hoped that this art and design-based intervention can strengthen the quality of basic education in schools in Indonesia, especially in West Nusa Tenggara, in order to support the achievement of quality education as stated in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) point 4.
