Congestion and delay in urban areas is a critical issue in major cities in developing countries, including Indonesia. This problem is caused by several factors such as urbanization, rapid population growth, economic growth rate, and high traffic growth. In Indonesia, congestion problems occur in several major cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Bandung, and will be followed by other cities. Congestion, delay, voice pollution, air pollution and environmental pollution are some of these problems. The problem is due to transportation in Indonesia only relies on highway-based modes. To overcome the problem of the congestion, it is necessary to establish rail-based mass transport policies, especially in urban areas. There are several specific education railways that produce diplomas 3 and 4, but no educational strata 1 (S-1). At the S-1 level of railroad education is given in the form of selected courses M.K. Engineering Road Rail with 2-SKS. This situation is also not supported by the availability of books about railways that students can use to understand the lecture. Therefore a comprehensive book is needed about railroad techniques. This activity aims to compile railroad engineering books that include introduction, rail and rail interactions, rail geometry, rail load, rails, rail crossings, rail crossings, operating capacity and emplacement, and maintenance.
