Activity Summary

Floods during the rainy and dry season during the dry season are an annual problem for Bandung. Floods hit almost every year, especially South Bandung located in the downstream part. One eco-friendly drainage concept can be used to prevent and reduce flooding is Rainwater Harvesting and infiltration wells. The Sangkuriang ITB hostel is one of the buildings owned by the Bandung Institute of Technology campus which has a fairly wide land and has the potential to be used as the location of the construction of the Rainwater Harvesting system. The purpose of this service designs Rainwater Harvesting and multifunctional infiltration wells (serves as a rainwater reservoir, but can also be used as educational facilities and fulfillment of long-term water needs). The method used through an approach to the dormitory occupants with the holding of education and socialization regarding the Rainwater Harvesting. The results of this activity, the Rainwater Harvesting System in the ITB hostel in accordance with the results of the analysis that has components. This activity makes students increasingly understand water conservation, especially Rainwater Harvesting and can take advantage of the results if one day is needed.
