Desalination technology has become one of the solutions to overcome the problem of water scarcity, because it can change the largest water source, namely sea water into pure water and drinking water. In ITB itself, research has been conducted to see important and effective variables to produce the largest amount of distillate water using a solar -powered desalination device. In this study, designing designs designs with the best variables from previous tests which are then examined their effectiveness in the field. An optimized design that can produce up to 1,734.05 ml/m2 and efficiency up to 23.35% is tested in the Batukaras coastal area and produces distillate water up to 902 ml/m2 and efficiency up to 13.56% of the resulting distillate water has met the water quality standard Drinking Minister of Health Regulation No. 492 of 2010 in all parameters except PH which is still at 5.03, organic substances of 37 mg/l, and total coliforms still above 25 MPN/100.
